Mr. Blais has significant experience in the winemaking space, having been a winemaking consultant for almost 20 years with one of the world’s most well-known consulting firms. Between 2000 and 2019, Steve worked with Michel Rolland Consulting, advising clients in nine countries and gaining experience in more than 40 grape varieties. He is an expert in new vineyard establishment and winery construction, premium and super-premium wines, and barrel-fermented red wines. He additionally has strong experience making wines recognized by the press, with many 90+ ratings by Robert Parker, The Wine Spectator, James Suckling, and Vinous.
Mr. Blais holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering and a Master of Science degree in Viticulture and Enology. His chemical engineering background has contributed to his success in the field, enabling him to help clients with chemistry analyses of barrel performance, among other accomplishments. He currently works as a chemical engineer with Charlois Cooperage USA where he focuses on optimizing the cooperage process.
